    Introduction
    (Curriculum Context - Background Information)

These learning stations have been collaboratively developed by two members of the English 421 Pilot Committee. They will be introduced to all English 421 teachers at in-services in early May, 2000. Most of the material has been introduced in Unit 1 of SightLines 10 and these stations provide a RBL activity to complement the anthology.

    General Goals
    (Why are we doing this?)

To extend student learning beyond Unit 1 of SightLines 10.

To introduce students and teachers to the many resources (print and electronic) available in their respective school libraries.

To allow students to develop or select a topic for further exploration. This may be in the form of a project or research paper.

To expose all students to the information gathering component of the research process.
