The Haunted Loo
by Bianca

"Many years ago when there were only kerosine lanterns, a 10 year old girl was brutally murdered. The murder took place in the girls washroom at the old Stanhope School, which is located on the road that is now known as the Bay Shore Road," Maxine began. She was telling the ghost story of "The Haunted Loo" to her two best friends, Scarlett and Anna. They were snuggled up in their sleeping bags in Maxine's basement on Stanhope Lane, the road which goes on to the Bay Shore Road. At the corner of the two was the old Stanhope School. Maxine continued to tell her story. It went something like this.
"The 10 year old girl had been seen whispering to the boy who sat beside her while the Lord's Prayer was being said. When the teacher saw this, he gave her the same punishment that was given to anyone who was talking during the Lord's Prayer; he hit seven times across her hands with his belt. To avoid embarrassment, he would always take the disobedient child to the washroom. Unfortunately, the third time he targeted her hands with the long, thick piece of leather, the belt went in the wrong direction and it wrapped around the girl's neck four times and then buckled. By the time the teacher got the belt unbuckled and unwrapped, it was too late. The girl had suffocated. Frightened by what had happened, the only place that the teacher could think of to put her was beneath the washroom floorboards. When he got back to class, the children questioned him about the whereabouts of the little girl. He said she had fallen ill and had to go home."
Now that the story had ended, Scarlett dared Maxine to go to the old school, and to go into the washroom and take something out of the the little girl's grave beneath the floorboards. Because Maxine had always been called such a wimp and was made fun of, she decided that taking the dare was the only way to prove that she wasn't one.
When Maxine arrived at the old Stanhope School, she started to get scared. When she finally found the bathroom, she found that the floorboards weren't as easy to move as she thought they would be. When she finally wedged one open, it was empty except for an old textbook which was matted with dirt. No bones, no teeth or eyeballs. Because the place was starting to creep her out, she quickly grabbed the book and pushed the floorboard back into place. As she turned to walk away, something was holding her back! She looked down and there it was, her shoelace was jammed in between two of the floorboards and it wasn't coming loose. She bent down and eventually wedged the floorboard away so the grave was open again.
By this time, her friends were getting worried so they went down to the school too. They walked into the bathroom and found Maxine bent over at the edge of an open hole. They crept up beside her. Maxine wasn't expecting them to be there, and she died of fright and fell into the grave for she thought Anna, who had reached out to grab her, was the little girl returning to her grave and wanting to take Maxine back with her.
So now, to this day, you won't only find one body but two in the grave under the floorboards in the haunted loo at the Old Stanhope School.
