On October 20, 2003, Ms. Barb Kissick presented "PEI Legends and Ghost Stories" to the 8-5 and 8-6 Language Arts classes in the Birchwood Library Resource Center. She told many tales that were set in Prince Edward Island. Barb Kissick, Children's Librarian at the Charlottetown Public Library has touched the lives of thousands of PEI youth through the magic of books. She is also a well-known storyteller who can be heard on CBC Radio 96.1FM. Please read some comments that the grade 8 Language Arts students had to say about this special presentation.
We would like
to thank Ms. Barb Kissick for coming to Birchwood Intermediate School
and for sharing her stories. Invite a storyteller to your school.
You'll learn how to spin a great tale too! Visit your school library
and your public library to find some really good books about legends
and folktales from your area.
