Barb Kissick, Librarian

On October 20, 2003, Ms. Barb Kissick presented "PEI Legends and Ghost Stories" to the 8-5 and 8-6 Language Arts classes in the Birchwood Library Resource Center. She told many tales that were set in Prince Edward Island.

Barb Kissick, Children's Librarian at the Charlottetown Public Library has touched the lives of thousands of PEI youth through the magic of books. She is also a well-known storyteller who can be heard on CBC Radio 96.1FM. 

Please read some  comments that the grade 8 Language Arts students had to say about this special presentation.

 

  • "Ms. Kissick's stories were exciting and they kept me on the edge of my seat," Sydney said.

  • "The stories were so good that I told students in other classes about them," said Chance.

  • "Barb has great expression when she's telling stories," said Evan.

  • "The stories were interesting and entertaining," said Davor.

  • "Barb got right into the stories that she was telling and she made them really interesting for us," said Mike.

  • "Some of Ms. Kissick's stories made me think twice about going out late at night," said Travis.

  • "Barb is a great speaker. She has a lot of confidence when she tells stories," said Will.

  • "I really liked the story that Ms. Kissick told about the guy on the boat who saw his death before it happened. It was a forerunner," said Nathan.

Visit your school library and your public library to find some really good books about legends and folktales from your area.
