The Haunted Garden

There once was a child that lived outside in a box. He was abandoned by his parents when he was born. They just left him on the side of the road thinking that someone would come and get him, but nobody did. So as he grew up he learned how to feed himself and how to get his food. He would usually just ask people for food or money.

One day everyone got fed up with him and told him that they weren't going to feed him or give him any more money, so he went hungry that day.

The next day he made a plan to go and steal food from someone's garden that night.

When he knew that everyone was asleep, he stole a spade from someone's yard. He ran to the closest garden with his spade and started digging for food as soon as he got there. He dug and dug, and finally he found some food. Just as he was ready to bend down to get it, he heard a noise.

That was the last thing he heard before he dropped dead! In the morning he was found with a spade through his pant leg. Some say that he was so fearful of being caught that when he put the spade through his pant leg, he thought it was the gardener who was out to get him, and he died of fright.
