Devil's Point
There
has always been a legend about this certain boat in this certain
place called Devil's Point.
It all started when a very poor fisherman named Joe Huckleberry robbed a bank to get money for his new fishing boat. Well, he eventually got caught, and back then they would drown people for crimes. While they were drowning him, they also tried to sink his boat. Since then, every full moon, you can see his boat out by the docks.
Down the harbor there were a few teenagers staying at a cabin for spring break. One night they were playing Truth or Dare. One of the boys, Tyler, looked outside and said, "Look guys, it's a full moon."
" Yeah, so?" said another boy.
"Did you ever hear of the fisherman down the harbor?" whispered Tyler.
"Tell us," yelled all of them at the same time.
Tyler told them the story and then he dared one of the girls who was really scared to go down to the harbor and to go across the lake in the old boat. Trying not to be chicken, she looked outside, saw the boat, and said, "Okay, I'll go, but only if you guys come with me."
When they got halfway, they had to row the other half in the rowboat. The all climbed aboard Huckleberry's boat. She found a note and showed it to the other kids. It said that the money that Joe Huckleberry stole was in the water. The other half of the note was ripped off.
She said, "Ok, I did the dare, let's go now."
They all turned around and their own boat was gone. Another old, out of shape boat was in its place. They got on it and Tyler saw something. They thought it was the treasure. One of the girls saw the other half of the note and read it, while Tyler tried to get the treasure.
The note said, "The money's in the water, and so am I!"
While they sat there in shock, a shark grabbed the oar that Tyler was holding. They thought it was the fisherman coming up from the water and they all died of heart attacks.
