  • I was reviewing our website that we put together. I like how all of our work is displayed in different ways. I also enjoyed the Art Gallery; it shows a bit of everyone's artistic side. The Jigsaw puzzles and Find a Word game are very cleverly put together. During this unit of Language Arts I really appreciate how I learned lots of things about creating a website, from changing the font to adding pictures. I also learned about linking pages together. I am glad that everyone can feel free to do their own little projects and get reconized for them on this website. I am thankful because now I know more about using computers. I really enjoyed making these web pages. Thank you! Sara

  • As soon as I took my first look at our finished web site I was drawn in. The puzzles are amazing and the word search is to die for. The JigZone jigsaw puzzles are better because they link together. Overall our stories are good but most of all I loved learning how to make my web page and how to change colours. I had a wonderful time making a webpage and hope I can do one next year. Dalton

  • Hi, I'm Kevin S. and I am in one of the classes that did the "Folktale Type 1676B: Clothing Caught in Graveyard" project. It was a real great experience doing this project such writing a story, making a web page and making a great video. I loved doing this. I am very proud of myself doing this kind of a project. I think this work I did this year in Ms. C's class will help me when I go to high school. In the project I learn how to make a webpage including how to put buttons on it, how to insert images on to the page, and messing around with colors and fonts. Ms C. helped me make a story better by putting more details and interesting things in it. I had a great time when the  librarian Barb Kissick talk about folktales in our great library. I really liked when she told our class about amazing folktale stories. The web page is great and I really enjoy the puzzles, photos, and the stories we all made. I hope we do some more projects in the future like this one and I hope whoever looks at our web page on folktales will enjoy it. Anyway I had a great experience and I really enjoyed do this project and I have three words to say MS.C ROCKS!!

  • I really like our class web page. Especially the puzzles and the stories. I love the set up of our site. When we were learning to make the web pages I learned a lot about making the web site and how to put things on it, like buttons and pictures. What we learned about web pages will really help in high school. Thank you Ms. Connell.  Emma-Lee

  • Hey this is Derek from the 8-6 L.A class. I just finished looking at our web site project that the two grade 8 L.A. classes did. I liked some of the stories and the games like the jigsaw puzzle and the word searches. I liked making my webpage this year because I learned a lot of new things on making stories more interesting and I now have more computer skills to take through to next year and into high school. I hope future teachers that I get and classes that I am in will do projects like this because it is a lot more fun than class work all the time. Derek

  • I just looked at our website and it is awesome! I love the jigsaw puzzles and the word find the best. I would have liked to have seen the movie that Kevin and James and Trent made but we couldn't check it out on the school computer because its slow so I will have to see it at home. It was a lot of fun making the web pages and i learned a little bit too. I learned how to change the colours and insert pictures were scanned into the computer. I also learned how to make my title alternate back and forth on my story. I learned how to put something on the web too and that can be very helpful because I am now able to make my own webpage anytime I want to. I thought all of the other stories were really great and I really like the pictures - especially the funny pictures. I hope that we can do something like making our own webpages again soon because I really enjoyed it. Anyone who hasn't seen our website, I think you should check it out and play some games like the puzzles and word find! Vanessa

  • Websites rocks! It was worth the work Miss C . Thanks for teaching me how to make web sites, how to change the colour of the text and the different ways to make your page better. The games are really fun the pictures are excellent and all the stories are the best. I hope we do more stuff like this. It was a fun and interesting time. Thanks Miss C. from Shawn

  • It was great for Ms. Connell to teach us how to make our own web page. Before I didn't know anything about web page design but now I know lots of things like how to change the font and colour, how to put your information on the web, and how to insert images. This will really help me because I will have a little jump on everyone in the other intermediate schools for high school. I thought it was great how Ms. Connell thought we should include jigsaw puzzles on our site based upon the pictures we made and word searches based upon the stories we made. I appreciated that Ms. Connell cared so much about our work to help us put it on the web and that she used a lot of her spare time to help us with any troubles we were having. I am proud of the site because it is our own work that is being displayed for everyone else in the world to look at. I thought it was really cool how Barb came in to the school and told us the history of some legends and folktales and explained what exactly each of them were in farther detail. It was very interesting and we were learning at the same time, it's much better than sitting in class. If I got a chance to do work like this again I would  take up the opportunity for sure. Chris

  • Hi, I love our website! I love the word games, the jigsaw puzzles, the pictures and the short stories, but the thing I liked the most about the website was making it! I learned a lot about making websites like how to change the color of the font, how to make the title move or blink, and how to put the buttons on. I think it was a great group class activity and I would do it again in a heartbeat!!!  Megan

  • I just checked out our website. It's awesome! I really like the photos, and all the stories are awesome. Everyone had lots of fun creating our pages. I really liked making the website, and spending time in the computer lab. I learned a lot about making websites. It was also a lot of fun writing my story. Everybody's stories rock, and their pictures do too. The movie was also great too. I hope that we can do a lot more projects like the website in the future. From Maureen

  • Hey this is Brad from 8-6 L.A. class, you remember me right. We did a project which was "Folktales, Clothing Caught in Graveyard." It was really fun and what we did was write a short story and make a web page which I just learned how to do. In this project I learned how to make better stories and to make them more detailed and interesting. Also I learned how to make a web page with my picture to go with my short story, learned how to change the colour and the font and hot to insert bottons. I learned a lot of stuff. All the skills that Ms. C. taught me this year and showed me how to do will follow me into next year and into High School. I had a great time when we went to the lab. I looked at all the web pages my class did and the other class did too. It was really great. I think that we should put a different picture each day on the Jigsaw Puzzle. I had a lot of fun when Barb came into the library and gave us a presentation on Legends and Folktales. She read a lot of them to us and there were some really good ones. I learned a lot of different ones like when the girl was Burnt To The Steak (LOL!) in Fort Amherst. Anyways, got to go. This was a great experience Ms. C. taught me a lot of cool things. I had lots of fun. Brad

  • I especially like Evan's picture. He is a really great artist. During this project I learned a lot about the different types of folktales and how they have different number codes. The movie that Trent, James ,and Kevin made all by themselves was really great. I think the movie would be even better if we could access it on our computers at our school. The skills that Ms. Connell taught us about web pages were very helpful, I didn't believe I could remember all of that information about the colors and the fonts and what size to use! But somehow I did. So anyway, THANKS A BUNCH MS.CONNELL!!! From Hilary

  • I just finished viewing our website it is very well put together. I especially enjoyed the jigsaw puzzles and the pictures. I really enjoyed how the folktales we put together in the end and I think that it all around it is a great website! I really liked learning how to make a website it was a lot of fun and now that I know how if I get the program later on I would be able to make my own website at home. GREAT WEBSITE!  Emiley

  • I really like our web site. The puzzles are really fun. All the stories were great too. I liked looking at the pictures the most. It was fun writing the legends with the pictures. I am mad that I was away when we made the web page it looks like fun. I hope that I get a chance to make a web page later this year or some time next year. Jenny

  • Hey, our webpages are great! Thanks a lot for teaching us how to make them. The skills you taught us are great advantages for next year in grade nine. I think it's really cool how we have something on the web and other people can look at our work! The jigsaw puzzles are great! Thank you for teaching us! Sincerely, Angela - P.S. You rock!

  • I really enjoyed making the web pages. It was really fun! Thank you so much for teaching us how to make web pages. Working in the lab was really fun, especially when we got to put the background and the pictures on the web. I also really liked the legends that the guest speaker told us. This was a very fun experience. I learned all about how to make web pages, how to write well, how to change backgrounds colours, and different sized fonts and I had fun at the same time! Thank you so much for all your hard work! I' m really proud of the web pages. Your awesome Ms. Connell!! :)  Sincerely, Becky!

  • I was observing our website and I thought it was very well done...I especially liked the jigsaw puzzles, I found them very arrousing. As you can probably tell I am trying to sound important. I liked how you separated the two classes' folktales, and I got to watch the movie at home and it was GREAT! I am proud to have my name on this website. It is a great all around website!! Kevin M.

  • I really liked our web site. The stories are great. The jigsaw puzzles were very fun to figure out. I like the page about Barb Kissick. The photos are awesome. I learned a lot from going to the lab, like learning how to make a web page. My favorite part was putting on the colors and on our pictures that we drew. The skills I learned will help me in high school too. The web site setup is great. Jillian L.

  • I really enjoyed visiting our web site. It was fun seeing all the pictures of the students. My favorite part of our web site is the jigsaw puzzles. It was really fun making the film that is now featured on the web site. I learned tons of interesting things while I was making the movie. I learned how to use the program, Studio 8 better. I also learned how to make some neat effects using my camera. I also loved making my web page because I loved messing around with the colors and adding the pictures. I have learned some really neat things while creating this project. Sincerely, James

  • Wow!!! Our site is soooooo cool!! I think the jigsaw puzzle is good but it would be better if the pieces clicked together like the other puzzles we did. The stories were great. I wish I could make a web page at home. It was really fun learning to use a computer better. I really like using computers. Coady

  • Our web page is really cool. I especially like the word search puzzles. I also like the art gallery. I love how it is all together. I loved making the folktale web pages. They are really cool. I learned a lot about making web pages and what to put on them, like buttons and pictures and that sort of thing. I can't wait to make my own at home. What we learned about making web pages will help us in high school. Thank you Ms. Connell for teaching us about web pages.

  • The web site is awesome. The stories were so interesting I wanted to read them all but there's not enough time. I looked at the photos of the class. The picture of Will is so funny. I would like to thank you for taking so much time to work on a web site with us. I've only made a website once before in grade 6 but ours this year is much better. I learned how to mess around with all the cool colors and put pictures on it, and that will really help me in high school. I love computers and I have built my own website at home (with the help of my friend Tyler). It's getting to be good. I would like to thank you again. The comments on Barb Kissick were so true. She is a great storyteller. My kindergarden use to go and listen to her stories every week. I love the time we have in the lab and hopefully next year you will be our L.A. teacher so we can learn more about computers. Thank you again and I can't wait to see the video by Trent, James and Kevin when I get home. I bet it is really great. THANK YOU!! Emily

  • This is an awesome website. I like the jigzaw puzzles. They were fun. It was really fun making the website and really fun picking the colors for our backgrounds. It was hard to write a different story from all the rest of our peers but when it was done it was worth it. You've worked very hard on this whole project and I give you gratitude for that. Especially when we all goofed around a little bit. I think it's really cool that you put up with us, because if it wasn't for you we would have learned nothing. I learned that slacking off isn't going to get us anywhere and life isn't peaches and plums. Hard work may take awhile but when it's done you will be satisfied that you've done the hard work and not somebody else. This will help me in high school because now I know that to get good rewards you have to take big risks. Jordenn

  • Hey! I really like the pictures.  The video is so AWESOME!  It was really funny and very scary!  I learned a lot about making web sites and inserting pictures.  I learned a lot about making backgrounds too.  I had a lot of fun doing this project and I would really like to do a project like this again some time.  The 8-6 legends and pictures are awesome too.  Some of them are more creative than others.  Bye, Kaitlin

  • WOW! This is a great web site.  I love all the different puzzles and find-a-word games.  I really liked the video, but it took a long time to download on my computer.  That would be the only bad thing about this web page.  I think the colours are great on the title page and the students did a great job choosing colours for their stories too. I learned a lot doing this project. Now I know how to insert pictures and change the font and background colours.  I also learned how to save a project on a floppy disc and that skill happened to come in handy soon after. When I saw all the work that we did displayed on the internet I felt really proud to be a part of it. I really hope we do this again.  Thanks Ms. Connell for putting all the extra time and work in for us.  Hannah

  • I think our site is great!  The puzzles are fun but took me a while to complete. I really enjoyed the movie.  It was hilarious and sort of scary.  When we made the web pages in class it was fun and I would like to learn more.  I hope we'll do them again in class.  I liked when the guest speaker came in.  I am a fan of scary stories and the ones that Barb told were great. The school should be proud of this web site because it is a great one! Danielle

  • Hey, what's goin' on?!  Well, the movie was a good one and it was fairly scary.  The guys did a good job.  They rehearsed what they did a lot and they did a good job to take the scenes in the right place.  The story and plot were good. When I was making my web page I thought it was fun. I got to learn things that I never knew before. The picture of me is pretty good! Willy

  • Hey, I love our web site!  I especially like the video that Trent, James, and Kevin made.  I was really good and I like how they made the music in the movie and the made it scary at the end of the movie.  I like the puzzles but they are harder to do than I thought because I tried to put the pieces together but then they wouldn't stay connected.  I learned how to make web pages.  Thank you for teaching me how to make them, now I can make my own.  I love this class so much because we do exciting things.  Carly

  • I really like our site.  It is well set up and it is easy to get to the things tha tI wanted to see. The puzzles are fun and took a while to do not like other puzzles. I learned a lot during the folktale theme like how there are a lot of different ways to write one story and have it different every time. The other stories were really good and still had the same theme. I can see that we all worked hard to do such great stories and to make our web site great. It is so cool to see my story on the internet and I showed it to my mom and dad. I especially liked when our guest speaker came and read us the ghost stories.  The forerunners were kind of freaky and she made it better with her great voice.  The word search was fun to do with my brother Billy - I found most of the words! Go me go!  This was fun and I think that it would be good to do something else like this.  Kathleen

  • Hey, Ms. C. This is chance responding on the great site that we made in class. I really liked the video by Trent, James and Kevin - especially the music! I learned how to use html, how to fool around with fonts, and I really liked changing the backgrounds.  I feel really important to have something on the internet for everyone in the world to see. Chance

  • Hi.  I just looked at our web site that the two grade 8 L.A. classes did.  I really enjoyed it.  The stories that I read were really good and the jigsaw puzzles were hard! I like how the whole web site is set up - great job! James, Trent, and Kevin did an awesome job on their movie.  They have potential to be really good movie producers.  I learned how to use html.  I had some experience doing this before, but this project reminded me how to do a web page again.  I feel the work that I did on this web site was very rewarding.  Davor

  • Our web site shows how much work we put into this project. I learned a lot about making web pages. Travis

  • Hey! I love our site!  I think it is great!  The movie was great too! The puzzles are hard though.  It's kinda cool that we get to see what the students in the other class did and how it is all put together in one project. I really like the pictures - we could have more pictures.  Ashley

  • Hey Ms. C. I just looked at our web site and I love it!  All the stories are awesome and the pictures are really cool. The video Kevin, Trent and James made is SO awesome! I thought this project was really fun and I really want to do this kind of project again.  I learned a lot about inserting images and putting up backgrounds on the page.  It was really great that Barb came to tell us about legends.  Here stories were wicked. It was cool how there were photos of us working put on our site.  Thanks for all of your hard work and teaching us Ms. C. The web site ROCKS!  Catherine

  • I love the web site. It is so cool.  I love the video that Trent, Kevin, and James made.  I like the way we used some of the pictures for jigsaw puzzles.  I like the stories.  Even though they have the same theme they are all different.  I like seeing work and pictures of people I know on the internet.  It feels kind of weird seeing mine on the internet.  I learned how to make web sites and now I can make them myself. Thanks for helping me learn how.  I love this class!  Emily

  • I really liked the movie, but the volume is low in some places so I didn't get to hear it all.  I like the way our site looks.  We put a lot of work into it.  Anthony

  • Our web site is cool.  I really like the movie and the jigsaw puzzles. The stories were good and some of them were great!  I learned that if you work hard at something you will be rewarded like seeing our work on the internet. I also learned that a lot of folktales can be based on the same theme but there are tons of different ways to write the stories. Ben

  • Hey! It's Amy from the 8-5 class.  I think our website is awesome! I love the video that James, Trent, and Kevin did. It's amazing and it sure did give me a scare. I like how our stories are presented and that everyone got to contribute. The games and puzzles are fun and a great thing to bring people to our site. I really liked this unit in Language Arts because I learned so much about web sites and I really enjoyed making them. I liked seeing everybody's stories and artwork on the internet because it shows that world how many talented kids we have at Birchwood :)  I hope we will get to make more web pages in the future because it was my favourite thing to do this year by far! Thanks Amy!

  • I think our web site is very interesting.  The video is hilarious.  It was fun learning how to make our own web pages.  The web site took a lot of work to do but it's really fun to see the finished work! Ellen

  • The site is really good!  I really liked the video! It's really cool. I really like how you set it up and put all our pages together. I really like the fact that my work is on the internet and having the whole world see my work!  I would have liked to have more colour on the pages!  I think we should of had more students making videos and have more pictures. Sydney

  • I like how the web site looks when it is all together. The stuff we learned inspired me and I am currently making a web site for my dad's business.  I liked the move that Trent, Kevin, and James made. Great job everyone! Andrew

  • I love the site! The video that James, Trent and Kevin made is awesome!  I really liked learning how to make web pages. Janna

  • I had lots of fun making my web pages but I found that I didn't have enough time to do a real good job. I hope we get to make another it was lots of fun. All of the other stories are really good.  I like the video the most; it is wicked!  The puzzles are fun as always.  The pictures are really good too just as everything else.  Mike

  • I visited our site and I think it is great!  I think it's really cool how anyone in the world can come and see our work.  The movie was so funny, and the puzzles are fun to do. I think it was a great project, and I look forward to making more webpages. I enjoyed when the guest speaker came in, I liked her stories.  It was a good experience, and I learned about folktales and legends and how to make a web page! The stories and web pages look great.  I am proud of our school when I look at the site. Rilla

  • Our site is entertaining and well done. The video is my favourite part of the web site. Thanks for showing us how to make a web page, how to change the colours, and how to put a picture on the computer.  The web site's great! Alex

  • The web site is awesome and very interesting. I really like the video that Kevin, Trent and James did. I like some of the stories that other students wrote. I enjoyed making the web site with our work because I never made a web site before and I thought it was very awesome learning how to make one. Stephanie

  • I think the web site and all the folktales are great! All of the stories are great. I still think mine was a little weird though. I believe that everyone around the world would like this web site.  I learned a lot when I was doing my folktale.  Writing folktales is not hard to do. I hope that some day we can do this kind of project again and that other people around the world can see and learn about folktales.  Michael

  • I did not realize until now how good of a web site we could all make together until now. I only read a couple of the stories but from that even I could tell how hard everyone worked to get this web site together. It is great! My favourite part of the site is the video. It is very well done. I also like the games and all of the pictures that everyone did. I liked it when the guest storyteller came in before Halloween because it got me into the Halloween spirit.  I am proud to see my web page online. I also feel proud because now I know how to make a web page.  I really hope that we get to do something like this again. Katie
