Students
in both of the grade 8 Language Arts classes wrote contemporary
adaptations of Folktale Type 1676B. They engaged in the writing
process and wrote final copies of their stories. Then, using a
computer and Front Page Express, which is a basic HTML editor, each
student constructed his or her own web page. Each student learned how
to find and to save background images. They learned how to insert,
format, and to justify text. They learned how to change the colour
and size of a font, and how to insert and modify graphics on their
web page. They learned how to create links, how to use and to
experiment with other features of Front Page Express such as creating
tables, and they learned how to save their HTML page to disk.
