The Haunted Graveyard

It was dark and cold on the night of October 31, 1864. Jill, Amy and Emmalee were at their friend Ashley's house for a sleepover the night of the tragic accident.

The four girls were about 13 years old at the time. They were having a great time playing games and talking about boys. At around 11:00 pm they decided to go up to Ashley's room to tell scary stories.

Each one of them told a story. Ashley told one about people coming back from the dead. Everyone took a turn telling a story, and then Ashley said, "Those were not scary stories!"

"Yes, they were," said Amy.

"No, there weren't," said Ashley. "I'm not scared of anything."

"Okay, then," said Amy, "I dare you to go to the the graveyard down the road by yourself."

"Okay, I will then," said Ashley.

"But to prove you were there, though, you will have to bring an axe and stick it in a grave," said Jill.

So Ashley got her coat on and went out into the dark by herself with a double-sided axe. The girls had to see this, so they snuck out and followed her.

"She really is going to do this, I can't believe it," said Emmalee.

When Ashley got to the graveyard, she walked up to one grave. The three other girls hid in the bushes behind her. Right when Ashley lifted up her axe to swing it, Amy came up behind her and grabbed the axe. Ashley had a heart attack and died right there. The three girls looked down at Ashley in shock.

"What are we going to do?" said Amy. "I just killed my best friend."

The girls knew that they had to do something. They thought that they would be sent to jail if they were caught. Jill had an idea though. She said, "We can make it look like an accident."

That's what they did. She stuck the axe through the bottom of Ashley's skirt and into the ground. They made it look like when Ashley tried to walk away she thought she was being grabbed by one of the dead.

The cops fell for it and they thought that was what had happened. Mysteriously, a couple of weeks later all three of the girls were dead. They were found in their beds. Nobody knows how they died. Some people say that Ashley came back for revenge on that night and she will be back again.
