International Friendship Group

At Birchwood Intermediate School there are a variety of students from all walks of life, and from many places around the world. Some of these students and their families chose to leave their country in the hope for a better life and future. Others were forced to abandon their homes because of war, economic or natural disaster, political or religious persecution.

The International Friendship Group at Birchwood encourages and promotes friendship and cross-cultural understanding. Group members also work together to ease some of the frustration, isolation and loneliness that new students often experience adjusting to their new life on Prince Edward Island in a positive and caring manner.
