Baroness Bertha Sophie Felicita von Suttner

She was born in Prague in 1843 as Countess Kinsky von Chinic und Tettan.  Baroness Bertha Sophie Felicita von Suttner later went to Paris and became the secretary of Alfred Nobel, the creator of the Nobel prizes.  Baroness von Suttner and Nobel remained friends even after she was married.  Baroness von Suttner and her husband joined many organizations for the promotion of peace and were very active in its promotion.  Baroness von Suttner wrote many books on the promotion of peace, the most successful being "Lay Down Your Arms"(an English translation).  In 1905, Baroness Bertha Sophie Felicita von Suttner received the Nobel Peace Prize for her role in the European peace movement.  Baroness von Suttner died in 1914.
