Principal's Message

I would like to extend a warm "Welcome Back" to all students returning to Birchwood.  A special welcome goes out to students new to the school and to all grade 7's who are just beginning their first year at Birchwood.

The new school year, 2010-2011, is here and the entire Birchwood staff is looking forward to sharing their passion for teaching and learning with you and your child.

It takes a partnership between home and school to see that your child has a successful year.  Birchwood continues to strive towards excellence in academic and social development. 

Our school web site allows us an opportunity to share with you a glimpse of the learning environment at Birchwood. You will see and read about many educational opportunities, successes, events, and activities that students and staff are involved with throughout the school year.

All students at Birchwood Intermediate are encouraged to join or to become involved with extra-curricular activities, sports teams, clubs, groups, and volunteer opportunities. There is a place for everyone at Birchwood. Participation and involvement promotes friendship, boosts school spirit, increases enthusiasm, and develops a sense of pride in self and school.
