Cobras Win "Sweet Heart Tournament"

The "AA" Birchwood Cobras Girls Basketball team successfully defend their title and the annual  ME Callaghan "Sweet Heart Tournament".  The Birchwood girls won the tournament last year in Alberton, and were hoping to repeat.  The girls defeated Athena and Kensington to get into the finals.  Birchwood met Hernewood in the championship game and defeated them 36 - 31.  Coach Troy MacCallum was very pleased and proud of how his team played over the weekend.  "The girls have been working really hard all season, and to win this tournament shows it's paying off."  The girls are in second place overall in the Eastern Division in regular season play thus far, and have high expectations as Provincials are closing in. In the tournament Meghan was named player of the game against Athena, Danielle was named player of the game against Kensington and Dunja was named player of the game in the championship game!  GO COBRAS!
