Birchwood Intermediate School

"Quality Education in a Caring, Disciplined Environment"

Success Program

At Birchwood Intermediate we strive to offer our students a wide variety of opportunities for academic and personal success. At times, some students do not respond positively to a typical class environment. Absenteeism, behavioral problems, and disengaged students need to be addressed in various ways. SUCCESS is a unique school program that has been developed to help students overcome such challenges. This program is intended to offer students an alternative educational setting that will promote independent learning, personal growth, and life skills training. Students will be exposed, as much as possible, to the same curricular expectations and outcomes that would be found in a regular class setting. The SUCCESS program is currently run by a teacher and a youth service worker in conjunction with our student services team. Students may be referred to the SUCCESS program under the advisement of Birchwood’s student services team and consent from parents, guardians, and the student.
