The essays and posters on this site were written and created by students in Ms. Connell's Grade 9-5 Language Arts class (2004-2005). Students learned how to write a simple formal essay including writing an introduction or opening paragraph, a thesis statement, effective sentences and paragraphs, transitions between paragraphs, and writing a conclusion. Students also created smoking prevention and cessation posters which were placed in the classroom and around our school to educate students about the harmful effects of smoking.
