For any student attending a post secondary institution, the debt to be incurred is usually very large. Students may turn to scholarships, bursaries, and government student loans, to help carry the burden.

At Bluefield, two presentations are given by a Provincial Department of Education loans officer about Canada/PEI Student Loan Program in May or early June - right after the provincial budget is approved. One presentation is in the evening so that parents may attend and one is during a noon hour for students.

A number or grants and loans are available to everyone, so no matter what type of income your family has, it is still a good idea to fill out an application. There are also grant for students with learning disabilities or other physical disabilities.
