The school learned yesterday of the Canadian Association of Physicists Prize Exam results. Bluefield’s Sam Arnold earned 1st prize and a cheque fro $125. Congratulations Sam!!

Prom Committee meeting today at 12:15 in Room 155. All members must attend!

In Athletics on Friday:
The AAA Boys finished with Bronze defeating Westisle 17-7.

The AAA Girls won Gold to repeat as provincial champions defeating Kensington 5-0.

The Boys Softball team finished with the Bronze medal defeating Col. Gray 14-12.

Thank you to coaches Robyn Murphy, Cassie MacKenzie, Hippie MacDougall, Tim Rhodenizer, Miss Smith, Mrs. McQuaid and Miss Woods.

Bluefield Womens Softball won gold on Friday night. They beat Three Oaks in the semi-final game 6 to 3 with top hitter Jessica Hay hitting 4 for 4. Then in the final Bluefield won 9-8 in extra innings. Ashley Tierney scored the winning run, with a steal home! Chelsea Darrach pitched 2 excellent games. Thank you to all of the girls for an excellent season.

There will be a SHORT ladies softball meeting in Room 269 at 11:45.

Teachers FYI – the last Teachers’ Resource Centre lending day for the year is June 6, with all materials due back before or on Monday, June 16th.

A reminder to students planning to attend CompuCollege in the fall needs to have their bursary applications in as soon as possible.

There will be a very important practice for the members of the Interfaith Drama today after school.

Athletics Today
Rugby Championships are being played at Bluefield today. The boys play at 3:00 pm for Bronze and the girls at 4:30 for Gold.

Softball Championships will go ahead today in Summerside. Both teams will play at 4:00 pm against TOSH. The bus will transport you there. Arrange to have parents pick you up later after the games. The bus will leave at 1:00 pm.

Track & Field Provincials will be held here at Bluefield on Saturday, June 7 (tomorrow). The schedule for events is posted on the bulletin board outside the gym.

Athletic Banquet tickets are on sale $5.00 each. The Banquet is next Friday June 13th. Purchase your tickets from your team captains. The following people are asked to come to the office after announcements.

Good News: A full cart of books was returned yesterday. Bad News. As of this morning, there are still 297 books to be returned. So do your body a favor, get some exercise, walk from your locker to the library.

Students planning to attend CompuCollege in the fall needs to have their bursary applications in as soon as possible.

All students who applied to be considered for Student Council Executive positions are asked to check the interview schedule on Mr. McCarron’s door today. Interviews will be held on Friday and Monday at lunch time.

Ladies Softball Team will practice today from 4:00 - 5:30 at York Point.

Rugby last night: AAA Boys lost to Rural 10-0 in a semi final. The Boys will play Westisle in the Bronze Medal game on Friday. There will be practice today.

AAA Girls defeated Souris 8-3 to advance to the Gold medal game on Friday against Kensington.

Permission forms for Track need to be picked up from Mr. Boudreau.

There is still a few men’s Softball shirts which need to be picked up from Mr. Boudreau.

Today’s Ball Hockey: Cameron vs Andrews

Softball games are at 4:00 Wednesday in Summerside. The bus is leaving after lunch. Your parents need to pick you up.

The A Boys Rugby team claimed Gold yesterday defeating Three Oaks in the provincial final. The A Girls lost to Three Oaks in the final to claim the Silver Medal. Thank you to coaches Alex Field, Kevin McQuaid, Bailey Harper, Danielle Halderman, Katie Perry and Melissa Myers.

AAA Semi finals: The AAA girls will host Souris tonight at 5:30 and the Boys travel to Rural for a 5:00 pm game.

The Softball teams will play in the provincial tournament. Both teams will meet Three Oaks in a semi final at 4:00 pm. The Bus will leave Bluefield at 1:00 pm. You must arrange for parents to transport you home.

Track Athletes are asked to pick up their permission forms from Mr. Boudreau. Provincials are this Saturday, June 7th. The schedule is on the gym bulletin board.

The Immuno Vaccine Technologies is offering a $1000 Warwick Kimmins Science Scholarship.
Students must be graduating and entering a Bachelor of Science program. Information and applications from Mr. Murphy, Mr. Carragher and Mr. Theuerkauf, also in the Couns. Cen.

There will be a very important, but brief, meeting for the 12 students selected to the Encounters with Canada program on today, June 3 at 9:00 am in the Couns. Cen.

The Service Canada Centre for Youth will be holding an information booth today, June 3 over lunchtime. They will be available to assist students with job searching, resumes, scholarships and bursaries. The office also provides information to students about wage rates, labor laws and health and safety in the workplace.

Holland College Spring Showcase of programs that still have spaces will be held today, June 3 from 3 to 6pm. Info in the Couns. Cen. There are still a number of programs with openings.

Ladies softball, the women’s team won last night 16-9. Top hitters Jessica Hay with a full cycle, Kathryn Hay & Kayla Walsh.

Softball: Both the men’s & women’s softball teams have defeated Kinkora in a 1/4 final game yesterday to advance to the provincial championships tournament in Summerside on Wednesday.

Grad gown fittings will take place today from 11:45-12:20 in Room 215. If you are 5'6"-5'8" or if you can’t come tomorrow you should be fitted today. Both males and females must be fitted. Girls are to bring $5.75 to pay for their corsage.

There will be a very important Kids Help Phone meeting today at the start of lunch in the Counselling Centre. It has to do with volunteer hours so all members must attend. It will be short.

Attention all graduates, Prom ticket sales have now begun in the main lobby at lunch. They will be on sale until Wednesday, May 28th for $12. After that they will only be on sale in the office and the cost will increase to $15.

There will be a full Student Council meeting today at the beginning of lunch in Mr. McCarron’s room.

Grad Theme Song auditions will be held Tuesday during noon hour in room 117. See Mr. Dunsford if there are any questions or problems.

Graduation gown fittings will take place this week. All grads must be fitted for a gown. We will start tomorrow(Tuesday) with those who are 5'9" and taller. If you cannot come on your assigned day, come one of the other days. See posters for details. Girls must bring $5.75 for a corsage. Fitting will be in room 215.

The Institute for Human Services Education will be holding a “TRY US ON” Session on Friday, May 30th, 9:30-12:30. A sample of courses for potential students are: ethical dilemmas, active young learners, personality profiles, up close and personal, programming in the humanities.

The Service Canada Centre for Youth will be holding an information booth today, May 6 over lunchtime. They will be available to assist students with job searching, resumes, scholarships and bursaries. The office also provides information to students about wage rates, labour laws and health and safety in the workplace.

Reminder to those students planning to write the UPEI Math Placement test that the date is changed to Friday, May 9, at 12:50 in the cafeteria. (not Thurs. as previously announced)

Attention Graduates!! Do you want your prom to be the best? Well, start off by picking all the songs you want to hear during it!
