Historiography and the historical method are central to this course in its examination of Canada's history from the first peoples in North America to the present.


Political Science 621

This course will examine the theories behind democratic and non-democratic governments.

Many case studies will be used to identify these theories, such as U.S.A., France, Sweden, Mexico, Iraq, the Middle East, South Africa and Russia. These systems will be compared and contrasted with the Canadian political system, which would have been introduced to students in Political Science 521.

This course promotes critical thinking and decision making skills, and encourages students to students to debate and discuss issues.
