Principals Message

Welcome to a new year at Central Queens Elementary School. On behalf of the staff at Central Queens, I wish to extend sincere best wishes for the year to new and returning students and their families. If you are new to the school, you will soon come to know why it is known as the "friendly school". This August, I witnessed just what a wonderful, dedicated community I have been given the privilege to join. To see countless volunteers work through rain-soaked conditions to ensure the children of Central Queens would have an excellent playground structure to enjoy, not only this year, but for many tears to come, was inspiring. Knowing that this day was indeed the culmination of hours of volunteer time and effort to make the playground a reality made me thankful for the opportunity to become a member of this school.

The staff at Central Queens Elementary look forward to working with your child(ren) and you this year.  Please feel free to contact the school at any time if you wish to discuss something or have a question or concern. We would ask you to review this handbook with your child(ren). It provides a guide to the routines, rules and programs at our school.

Our goal at Central Queens is maintain a healthy, safe, positive, supportive learning environment which, in cooperation with the home, helps to ensure each child achieves to his or her best potential. The staff encourages each student to participate in a wide variety of activities while balancing this with a commitment to high academic standards. We are grateful for the support of our parents who. we recognize, were, indeed, our students first teachers. Together, we will continue to help your child(ren) grow.

On behalf of everyone at Central Queens , may you and your child(ren) experience peace, happiness and success throughout the year.

Sincerely,

Denise Gaudet-McPhail
Principal
