Famous Islanders

Welcome to our web page. We hope you find our site very interesting. We really enjoyed doing this project and hope that you learn a bit about the "Famous Islanders" that we found in our research. Each student spent considerable time researching this topic. Various methods of information gathering were used, including books, magazines, personal interviews , CD's, and the Internet. The majority of the students relied on the Internet for the initial stages of their research surfing the sites that are listed on the teachers' resource page. Once a topic was chosen, many continued to rely on this resource. The students were also given the opportunity to utilize other computer technologies, including word processing, digital camera, and scanner. Through classroom discussion the students were involved in the design phase of how this page should look.
