This whale project is part of our Fur, Feathers, Scales, and Skin theme in the Language Arts curriculum with an integration in Science. Each student chose a whale to research and in partners used books, encyclopedias, magazines and the Internet to do their research. After research was collected using different sources, students organized the information into categories. They typed their information using AppleWorks, scanned their illustration into their document, created questions about their research that they could ask other students, and they created "Save the Whales" bumper stickers. The Internet was used as part of the research process (www.zoomwhales.com). |
