Lobster

1.antenenul: one of a pair of sensory appendages that are used as chemoreceptors and give the lobster a sense of touch.

2.first antenna: one of a pair of sensory appendages that function primarily as chemoreceptors.

3.cheliped: one of a pair of pereiopods adapted into claws--one "crusher" and one "cutter"--used for feeding, protection, and movement.

4.rostrum: a small point of the carapace protecting the eyes and anterior sensory organs.

5.eye: a lobster has a pair of compound eyes which are adapted for low-light vision and are particularly well adapted to detect motion.

6.pereiopod: one of a lobster's ten "walking legs" which are also used for burrowing.

7.carapace: the protective shell covering the cephalothorax.

8.cephalothorax: the head and thorax of a lobster are fused into a cephalothorax.

9.abdomen: the tail section of a lobster which is divided into six segments.

10.telson: the central segment of the tail fan which aids movement.

11.uropod: one of the segments making up the tail fan of a lobster which aid movement.
