North river WI met monthly with average paid membership of 23 and average attendance of 15. the annual membership fee was 25 cents.
President changed annually and were Mrs. Clayton-Stevenson, Mrs. Bruce McKinley , Mrs. Kier-Warren, Mrs. Fulton-Warren , Mrs. Eleanor- Younker, Mrs. Sterling-McKinnon, Mrs. George Yoe, Mrs. Milton-Willis.
the institute received and annual government grant of $2.25. members paid for subscriptions to WI news. sick and school committees were appointed for three months. gifts were bought for new brides , new baby's and sick and shut-ins 
in 1950 

institute started to run the canteen at the north river rink, with proceeds that year new sweaters and equipment was purchased for corner at north river.

, a road sign was purchased for the corner at north river.
Members took the first aid course and attended red cross, Tb and provincial conversations. WI provided treats for the children at closing, provided cod liver oil capsules to children, provided needed items for the schools, Warren grove and East Wiltshire such as maps, globes, paper cups, towels, bell, blinds ect.. WI donated dishes to a family who lost there house in a fire.
money was raised by an auction sale, selling fudge at a concert and play, rink canteen, ice cream social, birthday box and sale of cod liver oil capsules. collections in communities were taken for cancer, red cross, salvation army and protestant orphanage.
WI contributed to TB (tuberculosis) league, iron lung, save the children fund, needy children in Europe , 1950 Manitoba flood relief, Children aid society, drama Association, institute van an jubilee Endowment Fund.
Sick and shut-ins were remembered at Christmas. Parcels were sent to local men were served in Korea. WI worked for the hall by providing paint curtains, flock covering and coal.
