Eliot River Phys Ed.

We have a varied and interesting physical education program. All students will receive instructions and have the opportunity to get involved in the following: cross country running, basketball, badminton, volleyball, track & field, and low organized games, indoors and outdoors.

Intramural/Club Program.

This program is an extension to the instructional program and it gives students the opportunity to practice and refine the skills taught in phys. ed. classes. The program may operate at recess, during lunch break or after school hours and it is strictly optional.

Interscholastic Programs

This program is optional and is available to our elite athletes in cross country running and track & field. This competition is against other students in ESD and students from school across the province.

The following are requirements related to the Physical Education Program offered at Eliot River:

1. Running shoes (non-marking) must be worn by all children.

2. Students are expected to have a change of clothes consisting of shorts and a t-shirt, or appropriate gym wear.

NOTE: Students will be required to attend Physical Education classes unless written permission to do otherwise is received from parents. If a student is frequently granted permission by his/her parents not to attend Physical Education classes, a conference between the classroom teacher, the Phys. Ed. teacher and the parents will be arranged.

  Expectations 

Students are expected to:

* speak considerately
* be respectful
* bring a change of clothes for class
* wear proper footwear : non- scuffing sneakers
