A unique feature of Elm Street School is that it is a dual-track school. Children entering Grade One have the option of enrolling in the French Immersion program. Children in th French Immersion program take all of their academic subjects in French. A full-time French Resource teacher provides support to students enrolled in French Immersion. English Language Arts is introduced as a subject area in Grade 4. The French Immersion program spans grades 1-6. Approximately 50% of our student population is enrolled in the French Immersion program.
