PEI Health Sector Council: Englewood Home & School is hosting a presentation by the PEI Health Sector Council on Thursday, April 3rd at 7 p.m. at Englewood.  This presentation is meant to expose high school students, parents and teachers to the multitude of health care career opportunities for future high school graduates.  It will also help with the selection of courses through high school and post secondary education to achieve a chosen goal.  This presentation will also be of interest to parents and teacher of grade 9 students, as they assist their child/student choose grade 10 courses if they may have an interest in the health care field.

Variety Concert on the llth:  The scheduled variety concert for the 11th has been cancelled.  There was a band parent meeting last night and it was decided that, after looking at our finances, we will be able to "survive" without the monies raised by the concert on the llth.

WE ARE STILL PLANNING THE DRAW FOR THE 11TH AND IT WILL TAKE PLACE HERE AT THE SCHOOL.  IF ANY GRADE FOUR TO NINE PARENTS/STUDENTS DID NOT RECEIVE ANY TICKETS TO SELL AND YOU THINK YOU MAY BE ABLE TO "GET RID OF SOME"...CONTACT THE SCHOOL AND WE WILL SEND SOME HOME.  WE ARE ASKING THAT THE TICKETS AND MONEY BE RETURNED TO THE SCHOOL BY WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9th ... THANK YOU, IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR ANTICIPATED SUPPORT.

Silent Auction:  We will be having a Silent Auction during our Spring Concert here at the school.  All parents from grades four to nine are asked to secure items for the Silent Auction.

Gerry Rutten:  As a result of Mrs. Vokey’s medical absence we have called upon the expertise of a fantastic local resource who has been a member of Englewood School in the past.  Mr. Rutten is an accomplished musician and teacher who has accepted our pleas and will be working with our students for, at least, the next two weeks and maybe more depending on Mrs. Vokey’s recovery.

The Canadian Red Cross Babysitting Course: We have ten students registered for the Canadian Red Cross Babysitting Course.  It will be held here at Englewood on Wednesday, April 23rd and 30th from 2:45-6:30.  The cost is $25 and must be paid to the office by Monday, April 21st.  Cheques to be made out to Atlantic Fitness East.  Anyone who has not registered but would still like to attend, can call the office before Friday.
