Reminders:
Lightbulbs are still available in the school office for $10 for a box of 6. These are Philips Energy Saver 13watt (Equivalent to 60 watt) soft white mini twister bulbs.
Englewood School Christmas ornaments are available in the office for $10 each.
Yearbooks –There are still a few 2010-2011 school yearbooks available in the office at a cost of
$20 each.
Kindergarten Registrations for the 2012-2013 school year are now due. If you have not registered your child for kindergarten, please call the school office as soon as possible.
Gr. 9 Fundraiser: Tickets are being sold on a handmade, outdoor Christmas Wreath with proceeds going to the end-of-the-year Gr. 9 school trip. Tickets are available for $2 each or 3 for $5 and can be purchased from any Englewood School Grade 9 student.
Band News:
Englewood School’s
Christmas Celebration Concert will be on Wednesday, December 14th
at with a performance at 1:00 p.m. and an evening performance at 7:00 p.m.
The school’s elementary classes, grade 2-6 choir, 5/6 and 7-9 wind
ensembles will be performing. There
will be fudge, water and baked goods for sale as well.
(Keeping in mind that Englewood is a peanut free environment.)
All band students have now received booklets of tickets to sell for the Englewood Band $1000 draw. Each student is responsible to sell $90 in tickets ($150 in tickets for families of two or more band students). Monies and ticket stubs will be collected by Ms. Arsenault. The $1000 prize will be drawn during the evening Christmas Concert on Wednesday, December 14th.
Community News
Merry Pop-Ins School Age Programs will be offering programs for children in grades K-6 from 7:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Englewood School on all Professional Development Days and parent-teacher interview days in the 2011-2012 school year. The following dates are still available: December 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, February 1st and 17th, April 27th, and May 4th.
We will also be offering a March Break camp from March 19th-23rd, 2012 from the school that will include a variety of crafts, science experiments, cooking, physical activities and field trips.

Living Nativity Event: There will be a ‘living nativity’ event held in Canoe Cove on December 10th and 11th between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Admission is by donation and all proceeds go towards the upkeep of the Canoe Cove Community Association.
Christmas Barn Service: South Shore United Church invites you to join with them on Wednesday, December 21st at 7:00 p.m., at the Dixon Family Barn, North Tryon Crossroad. Come and experience the sounds, the smells, and the feel of what it is like for a baby to be born in a stable.
Christmas Eve Service: Island Wesleyan Church will be holding their Christmas Eve Service at 6:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come out and celebrate Christ’s birth.
Christmas Eve Service: All are welcome to a service at 7:00 p.m. at South Shore United Church, filled with special music, readings and carol singing as we celebrate again God’s gift to us this Christmas.
Senior Lunches: (#85 Rte. 10, Tryon) South Shore United Church invites all seniors in the community to a luncheon series on Heart Health. Come enjoy a delicious meal, followed by an educational presentation that helps us to improve our health and well-being. This will be held on Thursdays – January 12th & 26th, February 9th & 23rd at 12:00 p.m. (suggested donation for the meal $5).
