Peace Topics

Under the umbrella of Peaceful School Initiatives we have set up four school-wide peace topic themes.  Below you will find the themes as well as a aspects of that theme.

Seasonal Themes

Fall Theme
Feelings and Empathy

- Development of a ‘feelings’ vocabulary.
- Identification of feelings for both self and others
- Learning how to express feelings in a safe way
- Learning about coping strategies, anger management,
  Self-control
- Empathy training


Spring Theme 
Respect for Others

- Friendships
- Healthy relationships
- Diversity awareness
- Tolerance
- Differences in learning styles

Winter Theme 
Respect for Self

- Self-identity
- Self-esteem
- Values/character education (e.g., honesty, kindness)


Summer Theme

Peace
