PEANUT FREE: A reminder to parents and students that we are now a Peanut Free environment.

We are noticing a few items showing up in lunches that are not peanut free.  Such common items as granola bars can contain traces of peanuts although they are not peanut butter flavoured.  Please check labels carefully when doing your shopping!  Thank you for your diligence in this matter.

SCENT FREE SCHOOL:  Please remember that Englewood School is scent free as we recognize many people are extremely sensitive to perfumes and other scented items.

Drive Away Hunger - World Food Day 2007

Englewood School, in conjunction with the Hampton Women’s Institute, invite you to join the 2007 Farm Credit Canada Drive Away Hunger Tour to help reach the goal of collecting 25,000 pounds of food for food banks across PEI.  On October l6th one tractor and trailer will leave Tignish a second in Souris, both touring the province collecting food to fight hunger in the communities all across PEI.  The tour ends with both tractors meeting in Charlottetown on October l7th.  Each school that participates will be entered into a random draw for $500 donation to be used to make improvements at the winning school.

Let’s do our part to help make this a successful food drive.  Food donations can be delivered to Englewood School on or before October 12.  The top l0 most wanted items are:  pasta, tuna, canned fruit, baby formula, canned vegetables, fruit juice, peanut butter, soup, protein beans and baby cereal.  Monetary donations via cheques ONLY made payable to the Upper Room Hospitality Ministry will also be accepted.  Every dollar equals l.5 pounds of food.

Should you have any questions or want to find out how you can help make our part of this drive a success, please contact Englewood School (902)658-7850 or your local Farm Credit Canada office at 1-800-387-3232.

Grade 9 Year-End Trip: The grade 9 students are planning a Book Sale some time in October to help raise funds for their end of the year trip.  They are asking for donations of gently used books to put in their book sale.  Any donations can be dropped off at Englewood School.
