Volunteer List – 2008/2009

Healthy Eating Program

Each week, Englewood Home and School provides free veggie & cheese and fruit & cheese trays to each of the classrooms for morning snack. It is a wonderful program that offers healthy snacks to all students. In order to run this program successfully, we need volunteers. We have parents bake cookies and muffins to be sold in the canteen each week and we need 2 volunteers on Tuesdays and Thursdays to prepare the food trays.

Muffins and cookies should be dropped off on Monday of each week.  We ask for 1 dozen muffins and 2 dozen cookies individually wrapped in plastic.

For fruit and veggie preparation, we ask that volunteers arrive at the school by 9 AM. You will typically be finished by 10:30 AM.

We are still in need of many volunteers for November and December and also a few in October so please spread the word. If you have any time to volunteer to prepare the food trays or bake for the canteen, we (and the students) would appreciate it. Even if you can only come in once a year, it makes a difference. Please contact Sandy Nicholson (658-2798, doula@isn.net) to sign up or if you have any questions. Also feel free to ask a relative, friend or neighbour to join you in supporting Englewood’s Healthy Eating Program.
