Lending Periods
The lending period for most materials is 2 weeks; theme boxes and novel
sets are scheduled for 4-week periods; current journals are routed for a
1-week lending period. |
Collection Information
The collection is made up of: |

Professional development materials: mainly books, journals and videos,
including selection aids and teaching guides; and
Curriculum support materials for classroom use, in English and French,
including videos, filmstrips, computer software, big books, reading
sets, mathematics manipulatives, theme boxes, novel sets, author
studies, art prints, transparencies, slides, models, sheet music, etc. |

Catalogue/Database
Each school in the Eastern School District has been provided with a
print catalogue of materials available from the Teachers’ Resource
Centre. The electronic database is also available to schools, on disk,
upon request. Click here
for access to lists of materials. As well,
the database can be searched online through the Advanced search of the
Provincial Library's
AbbyCat website. To search it in AbbyCat: In
"Advanced" search, under "Sources Being Searched," click to remove the
checkmark from Provincial Library, and click to add a checkmark to ESD
Teachers' Resource Centre. |
Courier Services
Courier service for delivery/pickup of materials is provided to Eastern
School District schools outside the Charlottetown area, on a fixed
schedule. Materials for in-town schools must be picked up and
returned in person.

Other Services
Other services provided to Eastern School District school personnel are: |
- Laminating Machine: with a charge based on cost per meter
- Photocopier: with a charge based on cost per sheet
- Bookbinding machine: available for use of teachers
- Journal Routing: Current journals are routed to principals,
teacher-librarians, and library contacts.
