Kindergarten in the Public School System
|
“Welcome to Kindergarten” is a preschool readiness program
designed for parents/guardians and their children. It provides parents/guardians
with tools and resources to engage their children in early learning experiences
prior to Kindergarten.
Each school hosts a Welcome to Kindergarten session.

Registration - Registration for the coming year of kindergarten
is generally held in November. Dates will be published in local
media. |

Implementation - Kindergarten became part of the PEI public
school system in September 2010. For the 2010/2011 school year,
both kindergarten and grade 1 were school entry points for students.
In September 2011, kindergarten became the point of entry for all
students. |
