The Finance and Audit Committee of the Eastern School District has
called a special public meeting to be held at Glen Stewart Elementary
School on March 29, 2010, (storm date - March 30) beginning at 7:00 p.m.
for members of the Stratford community to offer suggestions on the name
for the new school being constructed in Stratford to serve Grade 4 to 6
students.
Appropriate names of schools may focus on:
a) The location of the school,
b) Significant historical or cultural heritage events,
c) Posthumous recognition of persons who have made outstanding
contributions to the country, community or public service on behalf of
children.
Written suggestions may be forwarded to the Committee Chairperson before
March 30, 2010 by regular mail to PO Box 8600, Charlottetown, PE C1A
8V7, or by email to
cjmaclean@edu.pe.ca.
The Finance and Audit Committee will receive community recommendations,
select its top recommendations, and submit the list to the Board of
Trustees for approval at a public meeting.

Individuals or groups interested in making a presentation to the
School Board must obtain prior approval in accordance with Board
policy. Anyone wishing to make a presentation to the Board
at the April 14 meeting must submit a written request to the
Board Chairperson or Superintendent by 4:00 p.m. on April 7, by
