Supervisor: Claudia Batchilder, 652-8970, First Aid Training

Open 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon every day, September to May

Children must be five years old by the January 31st following the opening of Kindergarten. The student teacher ratio is 10:1. Presently, with one teacher, all fees are paid by the Department of Education with a curriculum for math, language arts, and social studies being implemented.

Close contact is kept between parents and teacher, with parents forming a group led by an executive of president, treasurer, and secretary. Parents provide assistance at events over the year as well as fund-raising.

The overall philosophy of Georgetown Kindergarten is experiencing life in readiness for the next step it takes. It includes coping with stress, making/being a friend, valuing honesty, respect, fair-play, assertiveness and gentleness, strategic planning for the bigger picture (be it blocks, puzzles, drama), observing healthy habits, practicing personal safety, loving to learn, predicting outcomes, being independent, being interdependent with all living creatures, stopping, and thinking.
