We're in the Home Stretch! Only 43 more school days until the end of the year!


Welcome back to Jesse and MacKenzie DeVries. Jesse is in Mrs. Cudmore's Grade 2 class while his sister, MacKenzie is in Grade 1.


Good-bye to our student teachers, Lindsey Boulter in Mrs. MacKinnon's Grade 3-4 class and Michelle MacLean in Mrs. Cudmore's Grade 1-2 class. We wish them all the best in their continued studies at UPEI.


Easter Seals Update: A great big thank-you to all who donated so generously to our various fundraising initiatives for the Easter Seal Campaign. A total of $182.50 was raised through the bake sale, popcorn sale, movie and casual day donations. The money was presented to Sonja Walker, this years Easter Seal Ambassador, during her visit to our school on Friday, April 18th.


ArtSmarts Update: Work on the stained glass for our ArtSmarts project is taking shape with one of the four panels completed. The annual ArtSmarts Open House for all teachers, school staff, students, artists and parents will take place at the Confederation Centre Art Gallery on Tuesday, April 29th from 7pm-9pm. Our school ArtSmart Open House will tentatively take place on Thursday, May 8th at 6:30pm. More information to follow.


A huge thank-you to Mrs. MacIntosh who has been holding Guitar Club each Tuesday after school. April 22nd was officially the final day for the Guitar Club.


Photography Club: Photography Club with Bev Beaton will begin on Thursday, May 1st and continue each Thursday until June 5th. It will begin at 2:30pm and end at 3:15. All interested students must have their permission slip returned to the School by April 28th.


There will be a book fair at the school beginning the week of May 12th. This will be a good opportunity to get a supply of reading for the summer vacation. All proceeds go to the School Library.


Drama Production: All students will be travelling by bus to Morell High School on Tuesday, April 29th to attend their presentation of "Alice in Wonderland". The play runs from 9:30am-11am. The bus will be leaving the School no later than 8:45am. Cost per student is $2 which will be covered by Home and School. Students will return to the School for afternoon classes.


Volunteers are needed for the weeding and maintenance fo the flower beds at the School. If you could see your way clear to help out with this, it would be greatly appreciated.


No Classes: There will be no classes on Friday, May 2nd due to the Annual Teachers Meetings.


Tracadie Baseball and Softball registration will be held at the Tracadie Community Centre on the following times for girls and boys in the Tracadie and Surrounding areas. Wednesday, April 23: 6-8pm. Saturday, April 26: 9am-12pm. Wednesday, April 30: 6-8pm. For more information call Gary at 676-3082.


The next Learning Disabilities Association Parent Support Group meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 27 at 6:30pm. The location will be at 40 Enman Cres, Charlottetown (Royalty Centre). Topic: "Moving Forward - Learning Disabilities/ADHD Support on PEI." Please call 894-5032 to register at no cost.


 

Don't throw out your used ink jet or toner cartridges! By returning them to Staples Business Depot you will be helping our School earn money. We are one of the registered Schools and for every used cartridge returned, a dollar is put into a pool that at year's end is divided evenly among all registered schools!


CAP Site: The new hours of operation for the CAP Site are as follows - Thursday evenings from 5pm - 9pm.
