Welcome to the second part of your Pre-IB English course. This semester we will be concentrating on non-fiction, as well as novel study and a little bit of drama. You will also continue to work on your essay writing and research skills. We will be doing a lot of work on speaking, as a big part of your grade eleven assessment will be based on presentations. Today we discussed the pros and cons of dress codes. We also read an article called "In Defense of a Student's Right". Your learning log should now have a free-write on dress codes and a reflection on the article.

Thursday, February 5th
Today we discussed judgements and evaluations: what and who influences our judgements? How do we fairly evaluate something? If you missed today, you need to read the essay "How Do You Know It's Good" and do a refleciton on it in your learning log.
