Task 3

Begin working through the manual on presentations.  Create a new folder called presentations using the Manage Your Files program.  You can find this program under the STUDENT group in UserNet.  Place all your answers to the questions in the same document and place it in your presentations folder.  Call the file answers.wpd.   You can cut and paste the questions below into your document.  Answer the questions in the order that they are presented in the manual.

Task 4

  1. Choose a topic that you are interested in and is something that you could teach to the rest of the class.  Topics related to technology are most welcomed but not required.  If you don't have an idea, perhaps you can join the presentation project to be developed for newcomers to the school from other countries.  I will give you a topic to deliver a small piece of an overall presentation.

  2. Write a brief description of your presentation idea and send an e-mail to cainassignments@eastlink.ca subject presentation idea.  This e-mail should be sent from your school-based e-mail account which can be accessed at: https://mail.edu.pe.ca/netmail.htm

  3. Once you have received a reply from me, you can begin your presentation project.

  4. Go through the planning process as outlined in the manual.  Also, review the links on-line to help you prepare and polish your presentation.  I will be available to consult with you about your ideas and we can talk about how you might best implement them in your presentation.

  5. Create a new folder inside your presentation folder called project

  6. Create a new file in Corel Presentations called: my_slideshow_project.shw

  7. Your presentation should be well edited for spelling and grammar.  It must include the following elements: at least one picture, a sound clip, 2 different slide transitions, a hyperlink to a website that also contains information about the topic, and some animated text where appropriate to your message.  You may also wish to add a small movie if you are feeling extra high tech.  Be sure to note the source of any material or information that you use as reference material.

  8. Project Due Date: October 7, 2005 : 3:20 p.m.
