Music

If you walk into a music classroom at Greenfield Elementary you may wish to come prepared with a comfortable pair of dancing shoes, a sharp pencil, and a warmed up set of vocal chords.
The program, "Share The Music" is a large staple in our musical diet. It incorporates music theory, listening, movement, rhythm, pitch, and many other important elements of music. All of these skills help to provide the students with the ability to participate in our weekly talent day. Students are encouraged to share any musical talent that they have to offer including piano, song, dance, violin, etc.

The music program offers several extra curricular activities throughout the school year. You may hear your children singing in the Junior or Senior Choir, playing an assortment of instruments in the Percussion Ensemble, or perhaps doing their impression of a cranky kangaroo during one of our drama/musical theatre rehearsals. All of these activities take place in the music room at recess time throughout the year.

This year, Greenfield will be proud to present its third annual musical production. The children in grades four, five, and six will begin auditioning in December and present the musical at the Jubilee Theatre in May. We would like to encourage community members to get involved. The production is a tremendous and memorable experience for everyone.
