Candy Land

Chapter 1
"Ring ring " the phone went on a sunny afternoon.
"Hello," I said.
"Hi," my friend Bethany said. "Okay ,how do I begin? I was at Wal-mart and they were doing a doorstep prize, and well, I won!"
" That's great, " I said, "what did you win?"
"Oh, just a trip to the Bahamas, and I get to bring two friends with no adult supervision. Of corse I'm going to pick you and also Cassie."
"Great!! What time?" I asked.
"I'll pick you up at around 7:30 am tomorrow morning."
"Ok," I said.
But little did I know that this was going to be a vacation of a lifetime.

Chapter 2
Brittany and her mother picked up Cassie and me at 7:35. We were at the airport at around 8:00.
"You girls have a good time," Bethany's mother said.
"Okay Mom," Bethany yelled back. Bethany, Cassie, and me waited for our flight in the washroom, blowing soap bubbles with our hands.
Suddenly, and announcer said, "everyone going on flight twenty, please come to the front lobby. Thank-you."
"That's us," Cassie said. "Let's go!"
So there we were, going on a plane for the first time in our lives, and we were going so far away from home, with only each other to keep us company.

Chapter 3
"Oh man, I'm getting home sick already!" Cassie said as the plane landed in the Bahamas airport.
"I'm not, I'm really excited!" I said, as me, Bethany and Cassie got out of the plane.
"Wow, so this is the hotel we'll be staying in," Cassie said as we walked into the Maroota Hotel. It was huge!
"Lets go scuba diving," I said.
"Okay, " Bethany and Cassie agreed, so away we went.

Chapter 4
"That was amazing." Bethany said while we were taking a break from our first scuba dive.
"After I'm done warming up I'm definitely going to do that again , you girls with me?"
"Yeah," Cassie and I said at the same time.
About a half an hour later we were back out to sea.
Then, all of a sudden , while we were in the middle of exploring the giant reef, a big whirlpool started to form around us, then all I could see was black.

Chapter 5
I woke up about 15 minutes later. "We're definitely not at the beach anymore." I said to myself.
"Penny!!" Bethany said.
"Yikes!" I jumped up. "Bethany, you nearly gave me a heart attack. By the way, do you happen to know where we are?"
"Um , it looks like an underwater cave." Bethany said. Then Cassie jumped in the conversation. "Yeah, right an underwater cave with air in it. Oh sure Bethany, that makes sense. I happen to think we are in a bear cave," Cassie said in her know-it-all voice.
"And where do you expect to find a bear cave in the Bahamas?"
"Good point," Cassie said.
"Look, it doesn't matter where we are as long as we get out of here and fast," Bethany hissed.
"Ok, um, now what?" asked Cassie.
"We search," replied Bethany.

Chapter 6
"Hey gals, look what I found," Cassie yelled from the other side of the cave.
"What is it?" I asked.
"A little door. I could probably fit through it."
"Open it." Bethany said.
"Ok. Grr, its stuck."
"Here, let me try." I kicked it really hard and it swung open." Let's go in." I said.
"You first." Cassie said.
"No you."
"You."
"You."
"You!"
"FINE!" I hollered. " Scaredy cats," I said under my breath.
After I went through the little door, Bethany and Cassie followed. I looked up and there stood an eleven foot house made of, can it be? Gingerbread!
"Oh my gosh" Cassie said.
"I wonder if anyone lives there," I wondered.
"Lets find out," Bethany said.
"You knock," I said to Cassie.
"Okay, but you guys have to at least come up the stairs with me," she said.
So we went up the toffee stairs and Cassie rang the gumdrop doorbell.

Chapter 7
The door swung open. There stood a three foot...thing.
"Humans," he said under his breath. "The very first humans ever to set foot in Candy Land."
"Umm, hi", Bethany said.
"Oh where's my manners. My name is DuBlop, Blop for short. Please come in. Make yourselves comfortable".
So, we stepped in the gingerbread house. Now, let me describe the inside, the furniture was made of marshmallow, the glass was sugar glass, and well, everything was, sweets.
"You humans are the only persons who can stop the Evil Shwaberdabers. You must go to the land of fantasy, that's where the queen is and you must go up to her and tell her to put a shield around Candy Land so the evil Swaberdabers to not attack. But you must solve a riddle. It will be, 'what has holes that link together, and is strong as steel'. You must figure that out. Remember, go right, left, right, then left that will take you to the castle," said Blop.
"Well we better get going." I said. So we walked out the door.

Chapter 8
We walked up to the castle.
"We better hurry up so we can stop the Shwabadwabers from ruining Candy Land," I said.
We walked through the door, up to the queen, and said, "Can you please stop the Evil Shwabadwabers from ruining Candy Land?" I asked.
"Do you have the answer to the riddle?" she asked.
"Yes, it is a 'chain', I said.
"That is correct," she said. She pushed a button, then a shield went up and around Candy Land.
So, there, Candy Land was saved, we went back home, and even though no one will ever believe us, we will always know it happened.
