Dogs

Did you know that 1 year in "people" years is equal to 7 years in "dog" years?

Some of the dogs features are a tail, ears and a long snout. Some dogs have really soft fur, but other dogs have rough fur. They have lots of favourite foods just like people. Most dogs eat kibbles but others eat almost everything else! Dogs have many hobbies like people do. Some would be sleeping, running, swimming, playing catch and eating.

Some of the dogs enemies would be cats, other dogs and wolves. A dog's habitat would be in a house if it was a pet or outside if they were wild. There are many different kinds of dogs. Some of the categories are Sporting dogs, Hounds, Working dogs, Herding dogs, Terriers and Toys. There are 24 breeds of Sporting Dogs. There are 20 breeds included in Hounds. There are 14 breeds of Working dogs. In Terriers there are 23 breeds included, and there are 17 breeds of Toy dogs.

Some dogs have jobs. Some dogs are trained to sniff out drugs for Police. Some dogs are trained to help people who are blind or deaf. There are some dogs who are trained to race and herd sheep and other animals. The group of dogs called Toys are trained to keep people happy! And then some are just trained to be house pets. You may not know this but there are a lot of working dogs around us.

One more thing to remember, when you have a dog as a pet these are the things you need to do to take care of them. You have to bathe them. You have to feed them. You've got to play with them and pay attention to them and most importantly you have to love them and they will love you back. Now that you've read this book you will now know different kinds of dogs, how to take care of dogs and many other things.
