Don't Take the Boy!
Josh's daddy was takin' him truckin',
when he was 10 years old.
Another boy came through the front door,
hopin' he could go.

Josh's dad looked down and smiled,
said he has to come.
Josh, I know, you want him to go,
and some day he'll be in your mind.

And Josh said, Take Scotty Myers,
Take Michael Good, take my best friend Joel.
Take anybody that you like as,
long as someone goes.

Take any boy in the Crick,
Daddy please, don't let them leave.

Same old boy, same sweet friend,
2 years down the road.
His dad held him tight, and kissed his forehead,
told him never to go.

Stranger came and pulled him aside,
told him not to go.
Josh replied, and said he had to,
would be the time of his life, and Jeremy said.

Take my money, take my CD's,
take my video games.
Here's the chain take my grandpa gave me,
here's my remote control car.

Josh, give it a try,
but please, don't' leave us now.

Guitar Solo

Same old Josh, same sweet friend,
2 years down the road.
There's gonna be a little love and we,
think you'll have to go.

Doctor says, it looks bad,
but he could have a chance.
His mom said he's fading fast and,
there's nothin' more they can do, and Jeremy prayed.

Take the very, breathe you gave me,
take the heart from my chest.
I'll gladly take his place if you let me,
make this my last request.

Take me out of this world,
God please, don't take my friend!
Josh's family, said their good bye's,
when he was 14 years old.

The End
