Andrew A. MacDonald

Andrew A. MacDonald was born in Three Rivers, PEI. In 1829. And died in Ottawa, Ontariio, March 21 1912. He was representing PEI and was Pro confederation. After getting a local education, he went to be a murchant and owned his own ship. In the year 1854, he was elected into the PEI assembly until 1858. In the year 1863,he was sent to the newly created Canadian Legislative council. But he could not make it to the Charlottetown conference because of a family illness.George Coles.

In 1842, George Coles entered politics on PEI from being elected into the house of assembly. By 1847, he went from a conservative to a Reform Party. His position with performers had started to lead into Responsible Gout in PEI.

When he reached his goal in 1849, he finallly became the first premier of PEI under the Responsible
Gout. With that, he would be elected the position of premier three times between the years of 1851-1868.

At the conference, Coles wasn't too enthused about the idea of uniteing the BNA colonies. His position
in the Island Gout, kept the orvince from joing the initial union. Finally in 1868, Coles gave up the position of premeir cause he couldn't
stand it. John Hamilton gray was born in Charlottetown , Prince Edward Island , in the year 1811, on June
14th. He represented P.E.I and was a conservative. He was one of the five Fathers of Confederation, for P.E.I.

In 1858, Hamilton entered Politics and was elected into the Legislative Assembly of P.E.I.
Jonh Hamilton Gray was a great host for the Charlottetown Conference. he was so good at it
that he was elected as chairman, of the Maritime Delegates.
When John hamilton gray was at the young age of 66, he died. the year was 1887, August 13th.
He died in Charlottetoen, P.E.I.

John hamilton Gray was a Lawyer. John Hamilton Gray also had a ferry named after him

William Henry Pope.

Born-Bedeque, P.E.I., 29 May 1825.

Pope had done most of his studies in London, England before comming back to Prince Edward
Island where he would there read law under Edward Palmer, who would later be one of his fathers of confederation. Pope was
admitted to the bar on the island in 1874 and then he had spent time as a land agent.

From 1859-72 pope editted the liberal paper also in 1859 he was given postion as P.E.I.'s
colonial secretary. In 1863 Pope won a seat in the island's assembly representing the district beliefs.

Pope had supported the British North American Colonies but had to resign from the cabinet
in 1866 for then it was an unpopular position at the time. But still after his leaving he had continued to include P.E.I.'s inclusion in
confederation and eventualy in 1873 Pope's hopes had come true. With the help of his younger brother James Colledge the
island was to join the Dominion.

At the Charlottetown conference Pope had played the role of host for the visitors.
Edward Palmer was born in P.E.I the province of Charlottetown on September 1, 1809. He recieved his local education also in Charlottetown and afterwards studied law with his father who was an irish born attorny.

At the age of 26 Palmer began his career in politics as a Tory in legislature by representing Charlottetown, queens county.

He then served for 35 years in the islands gouvernment as solicitor general, attorny-general, pwersident of the council and he also held many other inportant positions. In 1849 he became the leader of he Tories , and then 10 years later emerged as premier of the island, but then later in 1963 he was replaced as premier yet still he stayed loyal and attended the conference.

Edward Palmer's life came to an end November 1889.
