The Watercycle

Water is constantly being cycled between the atmosphere which is helping life on our Earth .

As the water evaportates , vapours rise and condenses into the clouds , as the clouds move over the land ,and precipation falls in a form of snow, sleet , hail or ,rain it fills the lakes , streams , and rivers, and eventually flows back into the ocean where it starts the evaporation process all over again .

Precipation , evaporation , and transportation are all parts of "The water cycle " . The water cycle is a process that gives us water to drink , fish to eat , and also weather patterns that help us grow our crops . Water covers most of the Earth , 97% to be exact is the salt you find in the oceans around you , only about 3% of the Earth's water is fresh . Two percent of the Earth's water is in a solid form , found in ice caps and glaciers . That leaves about 1% of the water in a form which I useable to all humans and wildlife. A small amount of our water is found as a vapour in the atmosphere . Water's state is determined mostly by the tempeture, although the water is always changing states from a solid to a liquid to a gas ,the amount of water on the Earth's surface will remain the same.

Why is water so important to us

Water is so common that in many parts of the world take it for granted . But without ample water , our lives would be extremely different people all over the world use a whole lot more water then they need . The average person uses about 3 gallons of water a day.

What does Condensation and Evaporation Mean?

Evaporation is when some molecules leave the others and go up into the air as water vapour . This is a change from a liquid to a gas . But as the molecules escape ,less liquid water is left so in time all of the water will evaporate .

Condensation is the process of a gas turning into a liquid . The reason that droplets form on your glass it is because it cools and it causes water vapour in it to change back to a liquid.

Cloud Formation

Through the water cycle process of evaporation and transpiration the water moves into the atmosphere . The water vapours then join with all of the dust particles to create clouds. Eventually the water returns to the Earth as precipation in a form of rain ,snow, hail and sleet.

All clouds I the sky contains water vapours , you barley ever see clouds in the desert because there is very little moisture to evaporate and form clouds . Costal regions can receive a lot of rain because they bring in a lot more moisture from the surrounding waters.

Rain Snow Sleet Hail

All moisture that is lost from the clouds is called "Precipation". Rain ,snow , sleat, hail, and fog, mist and frost are all forms of precipation. Rain occurs when water droplets collide when they are too heavy to stay up I the atmosphere they fall as rain. Or ice crystals stick to each other and falls from the clouds . If the air below is warm then they will melt and fall as rain , if it is cold enough outside it is able to snow. Sleet is just a mixture of rain and snow, hail is lumps of ice and fog and mist is clouds of droplets near the surface.

How the city water is purified

it goes from the main source to the pump then travels to chemical treatment (activated carbon, alumni, chlorine) mixing basin to the setting basin then to the filters ( sand ,floc, gravel ) chlorine to the filtered water reservoir then goes to a distributing main then to pumping station then into the taps of our homes .

Conclusion

I believe that the water that we are using I getting way out of control I also learned that the water is very fragile and is not something that should be used without reason the water cycle is something that I was very fortunate to find more about .
