Entering a Formula
1. Select the cell that will contain the formula.
The formula must be entered in the cell on which you want to display the
results of the formula.
For example, if you had the following data entered into a spreadsheet:
You would like to enter a formula that would total all of the numbers in
cells A1, A2, A3, A4, and A5. You want the results of this calculation to
appear in cell A7. Select cell A7 and begin to type your formula by following
the rest of these steps:
2. Type an equal sign (=).
3. Type the formula after the equal sign. In this case your formula be:
=A1+A2+A3+A4+A5 or it could look like this: =SUM(A1..A5)
4. Confirm your formula by pressing the Enter key.
