Lesson Plans
Two activities
that classes did for this web site on the cells unit were designing a model
of a cell and making a slide show on a cell organelle or on a body organ.
Cell
Model
After
students were given the instructions
for this activity, they were given 1 class to plan their cell. The work
on the cell itself was done as a home assignment. Students were given
several weeks to have their final product passed in. The resulting cell
models were very well done and several were photographed to give the opening
picture for the website.
Slide Show
For
the slide show assignment, students were given the instruction
sheet and basic
instructions for using Corel Presentations. There was a draw to
determine the topic the student pair was responsible for making a slide show.
The resulting slide shows were reformatted for the internet (see resulting
slide shows). They were graded using a scoring
rubric.
