Description
I am doing Geothermal Power for my science assignment.
Geothermal energy is when you take the heat from the core of the earth and transform it into energy.
Geothermal originates from Geo (meaning earth) and thermal (meaning heat). These resources can be classified as low temperature (less than 90°C or 194°F), moderate temperature (90°C - 150°C or 194- 302°F), and high temperature (greater than 150°C or 302°F). That is a brief
description of geothermal energy.

Advantages of geothermal power | Disadvantages of geothermal power |
| This power is renewable | Not available in many locations |
| No pollution | Not much power per vent |
| Does not require structures such as solar panels or windmills to collect the energy--can be directly used to heat or produce electricity (thus very cheap) | |
| Often an excellent supplement to other renewable sources | |
There are not very many Goethermal Power Plant's in the world but there is one in Alaska and one in Hawaii. Some of the websites I used to find information about
Geothermal Power were: http://www.eren.doe.gov/geothermal/geofaq.html ,
