How Kilo Watts are Measured

Have you ever wondered why the person from Maritime Electric comes to check the meter on the side of your house? Or, how is it they can calculate the amount of electricity you've used in a month? The number on the meter is recorded which is subtracted from the recording of the previous month. The difference in these amounts is then multiplied by $0.08. This will give you the amount in kilowatts that you have used in a month.
