Geothermal Power

Description

Geothermal energy is natural heat from the Earths interior. Heat is brought to the surface by pressure and steam is released through the earths crust. Geothermal energy uses heat pumps that are imbedded in the ground. This energy is a cheap way of heating up our homes.

The Production of power from Geothermal Energy

Step One: The hot air breaks through the crust of the earth and steam comes up

Step Two: Once they found the heat source they hook up pipes into the ground to put the hot air into your house

:Advantages of Geothermal Power

:Disadvantages of Geothermal Power

  • 1.Costs a low amount of money to run
  • 1. Takes awhile to hook up
  • 2. Some geothermal energy brings up gold, silver or sulfur
  • 2. Can only be used in certain areas in the world
There are no geothermal examples in Canada but there are a few spots in America. Some places with geothermal energy are Nevada, California, Utah and Hawaii.
