~SUNSHINE~

?¿? What the Heck Is Solar Power?¿?

Solar Power comes from the sun. Anyone who didn't know that should be shot! Just kidding. Solar Power comes from the suns ultra-violet rays which are harvested through "photo-voltaic technology" such as solar cells and panels that generate electricity from direct sunlight.

The Production of Power from Solar Energy

Steps That Take Place After The Sun Does It's Thing and Releases Rays

Step One: The Photo-Voltaic or Solar cells operate so that the electricity will flow between two different semiconductors.

Step Two: When these are linked together and exposed to direct sunlight, groups of cells can gather a useful flow of electricity.

Step Three: The electricity is then passed through the "Charge Controller" that allows certain amounts of electricity to pass through to the "DC and AC Loads".

Step Four: For the electricity to pass through to the "AC Loads", it must first go through the "batteries" to the "Inverter" and then to the "AC Loads".

Step Five: When this process is completed, you can do the tasks you want, just like you can with every other source of electricity.

Advantages of Solar Power

Disadvantages of Solar Power

  • lowers amount spent on fossil fuel bills
  • expensive
  • does not pollute our environment
  • if there is no sun, no electricity is generated
  • your home would be toasty warm on sunny days
  • they're hard as heck to install
  • There are few solar power plants in Canada. I figured that out because I searched like crazy and I couldn't find ONE!! But I kept looking and I found that each household that installs solar panels has their own little power plant at home. So therefore, there are many power plants in Canada.
