The grade 8 classes at KISH have completed a novel study in which they learned a lot about different elements of novels. They studied characters, settings, types of genres and techniques that authors use when writing.
After reading the novels, students completed novel stations. Some of the assignments can be viewed in the Project Centre.
Some of the students also chose to help create more web pages to showcase our novel study.
Here are some of the things they did:
- make a Canadian authors page based on internet research
- scan and take digital photos of the classes artwork
- record some of the oral story telling done in class
- create crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles
- students collected the data from the survey and created the graphs
- learned HTML coding and HTML editors to create the web pages
