The class has completed an individual novel study. This is an outline of the way the unit was organized.
The students choose a novel. The only guidelines is that it had to be a minimum of 150 pages, be age appropriate and interesting for them. I had to approve the novel.
We read silently for the first 10 minutes of every class for 3 weeks. ( Students must finish reading 1/3 of the book each week, or read at home.)
Every Friday the class participated in a Novel Studies Activities. This is a copy of the information and topics covered.

Student Assignments
Students had to complete three assignments upon
completion of their novel.
Each student had to complete a book review. The review had to include how they rated the novel, a short summary and any information about the author that might be interesting to the reader.
Each student then had to complete one ART Assignment and one WRITTEN Assignment. They had a choice from a list of assignments. Assignment Choices ( in .pdf format)
